Naitonal Nursing Home Week

Cedarcrest Manor celebrated National Nursing Home Week from May 14 - May 18.  The national theme for all homes across the country was "Sharing Life's Stories."

On Monday, May 14, we did our "Cheers to Younger Years" by starting the day with a baby shower and a 50's style sock hop.  Mark Nast was generous enough to provide the entertainment for our residents while they enjoyed root beer floats.

Cedarcrest Manor has welcomed a new maintenance supervisor, Matt Fisher, and he has been busy with his daily maintenance duties as well as constructing a tiki hut for our nursing home week!  On Day 2, we served refreshments from the tiki hut and held a luau.  Residents danced as tropical music played and the staff as well as the residents had a great celebration!

During National Nursing Home Week, we also held a Pearl Harbor memorial where local veterans were honored.  Our own activity director, Sheila Laird, sang the National Anthem!  There were tears and hugs at this beautiful event!
